Other Activities: Katmai National Park is truly a paradise for outdoor enthusiast. Outdoor photographers come from around the world for the scenery and wildlife in the area. Of all this, the Alaskan Brown Bear is king and this area gives clients the best opportunity to see them anywhere in the world. Seeing one of these giant in person and in the wild is something you'll remember for the rest of your life.
The famous Brooks River in Katmai is a short 15 minute flight from the lodge and is the easiest place in the world to see bears. The famous scenes of bears catching salmon in a waterfall, usually come from this spot. We highly recommend seeing this during your stay.
Crystal Creek Lodge also offers many other activities for clients such as hiking, kayaking, flight seeing tours and even a chance to visit a walrun colony on the Alaskan Peninsula. ($500 per person extra cost due to the fuel). This is an amazing excursion where one can see hundreds, or even thousands of these great beast.
Local Area: Crystal Creek Lodge is located on the Naknek River, 285 miles southwest of Anchorage near the town of King Salmon. The lodge is on the western edge of Katmai National Park, famed for fishing and beautiful scenery and wildlife.
