Local Area: The Seychelles Islands are one of the world's best kept secrets. Over 85 of it's 115 islands are still uninhabited and approximately 46% of the total area has been designated as nature reserves or parks. Mountains faced with steep granite walls serve as a backdrop for countless beaches covered with fine white sand. Few places in the world have such an interesting ecological mixture of rainforest, mountains and beaches. The population is approximately 80,000 of which 90% live on Mahe, the largest of the islands. Three main languages are spoken: Creole, French, and English.
