About the Destination: Imagine palm trees lazily swaying in warm breezes and white sand flats spreading out from the beach for miles in every direction.
Ascension Bay offers an endless and isolated world of turquoise shallow water. The area is an anglers paradise, with schools of bonefish so large, they're often mistaken for the shadows of slowly passing clouds.
It's now that you realize you're not just in paradise, but actually part of it!
Local Area: The area surrounding Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca is wild, virtually uninhabited and extraordinarily beautiful. The lodges are located on a narrow coastal island on the southern edge of Ascension Bay.
This area is located in the center of one of the worlds largest protected wild areas, the Sian Ka'an, Biosphere Reserve. This pristine reserve covers over 1.5 million acres and completely surrounds Casa and Playa Blanca.
The reserve contains 22 registered archaeological sites, two of which are just down the beach for you to explore. This area truly has to be seen to believe.
